Founder’s Background
DamasLead is founded and led by Dr. Osama Al-Akhras, a physician by training and a leadership consultant by practice. His early career in medicine taught him the value of responsibility, ethics, and teamwork — lessons that later shaped his philosophy of leadership.
After years of medical practice, Dr. Al-Akhras pursued a Master’s degree in Leadership and Organization with a focus on sustainability at Malmö University in Sweden. This academic journey provided him with advanced tools to understand leadership not only as a function of authority, but as a human-centered practice that empowers institutions and communities.
Today, as the author of “Sustainable Leadership and Organization” and the founder of DamasLead, he is pioneering sustainable leadership and organizational consulting for Syria, bridging the academic excellence of Sweden with the local realities of Damascus.
